Their story

According to a report by the Iranian media , Mehrshad (24) and Mahdi (19) were the sons of an environmental ranger identified as Hassan-zadeh. Since the beginning of the World Cup, Mehrshad, accompanied by his wife, brother, and mother, had brought their home television from Hajiabad—located in the northern part of Hormozgan province—to the 'Seyyed Jouzar' environmental outpost in the Tarom protected area to watch the matches. Ranger Hassan-zadeh was at the hospital accompanying his ailing wife, a circumstance that ultimately saved his life. The environmental outpost came under attack at 2:20 a.m. While the bodies of Mr. Hassan-zadeh’s two sons were relatively intact, the body of the daughter-in-law was identified with great difficulty.
