Strike on Roadside Service Facilities, Zanjan

Two points alongside the Zanjan-Qazvin Freeway were struck in consecutive missile attacks conducted on Thursday afternoon of 5 March 2026. One missile strike caused significant damage and destruction to the Pasargad roadside restaurant complex and the second, damaged the Mershon intersection bridge located less than 4 km away, just north of the roadside complex. The attacks, particularly the attack on the intersectional (Mershon) bridge, led to the temporary closure of northern access routes to the Freeway.¹

Initial reports published shortly after these missile strikes,² indicated that at least 17 people had been killed and at least 12 had been injured as a result of the attacks.
