Strike on Bushehr Airport Meteorological Office

In the early hours of March 23, 2026 — coinciding with World Meteorology Day — the main building of the Bushehr Provincial Meteorological Office was struck twice by air-launched munitions. The building, described by its director as located in a fully civilian and public-service zone, was not a military installation. Its staff were engaged in routine meteorological monitoring and aviation weather forecasting at the time of the strikes. The director of the Bushehr Meteorological Office, Payam Mosaedi, confirmed the attack in statements to Tasnim News Agency. A second strike on the same meteorological infrastructure — specifically the weather radar station (Building No. 2 of the same directorate) — was reported on April 1, 2026 (11 Farvardin 1405), by the Deputy Governor of Bushehr Province for Political Affairs. That facility was described as one of the most important meteorological radar sites in the Persian Gulf region.
