Strike on Allameh Helli 5 High School, Tehran

Allameh Helli 5 is a boys' high school for gifted students belonging to SAMPAD Allameh Helli schools are part of Iran's national network of schools for highly talented students and admit students through competitive examinations.

The school was closed in the first day of the war. Following that attack, school officials sent the students home and closed the school. On March 2, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the school was struck. By then, no students or teaching staff were present. The only people at the site were the son and wife of the school caretaker, who suffered mild injuries. The deputy principal described the destruction as occurring within seconds or minutes, with parts of the school's walls collapsing.

One of the most significant losses was Dehkhoda Hall, which was completely destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. The hall had been used for examinations and student assemblies. The school building itself had historical significance: according to the deputy principal, the property had previously belonged to Dehkhoda, whose former residence remains across the street.

The school's basement level was also destroyed. It contained relatively well-equipped laboratories for physics, biology, chemistry, and electrical studies. These facilities were particularly important to the school's problem-solving and research-oriented educational approach. The main building was considered repairable and potentially could be restored within several months, but it was temporarily unusable following the attack.

The school served 349 students. Despite losing access to their school building, students continued to receive instruction through online classes and examinations.
