Description

On March 4, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a U.S.-Israeli attack struck the Dardasht area of Tehran's Narmak neighborhood. The affected site was a five-story building known as the Rostami-Kia building, located at the entrance to Olya'i Alley on Dardasht Street. IRNA reported that the building was damaged in what it described as a U.S.-Israeli attack and that 12 residents became trapped under the rubble. Tehran firefighters successfully rescued the 12 residents. Two additional people were rescued in a separate operation.

Fararu's subsequent report from Dardasht described extensive destruction in and around the site.

The five-story building stood above a commercial area that included a Haft supermarket and a car showroom. Fararu reported that the businesses underneath the building were heavily damaged following the destruction of the upper floors. Only several broken shelves remained in the supermarket. Nearby residential buildings were also heavily damaged by projectiles and the blast generated by the explosion.

The damage extended across Dardasht Street. Fararu reported that the windows and parts of the façade of a Kourosh store and a Bank Saderat branch across the street were damaged, forcing the businesses to close. Other residential buildings in the area were evacuated because of the severity of the damage and concerns about structural stability. Residents described homes whose rooms, belongings and household contents had been destroyed.

The attack also affected vehicles and pedestrians in the street. A local resident interviewed by Fararu said that vehicles passing through the area were trapped beneath falling debris and claimed that people inside them had been killed. Another witness described a white Pride passenger car being buried beneath rubble from the building and said that everyone inside had died. These accounts are presented as eyewitness statements, and the source does not provide an official confirmation of the number of people killed.

Fararu also reported that several people were believed to be missing after the attack. One resident said that search and debris-removal operations continued because people were thought to have been thrown from the Rostami-Kia building toward neighboring buildings during the explosion.

Commercial properties along the street sustained substantial damage. A cigarette-shop employee reported being affected by the blast and said that the shop's ceiling and part of its stored goods were damaged. Other shops—including a computer-services and stationery store, a restaurant, a flower shop and a store selling disposable products, perfume and plastic goods—were also damaged. Windows were reported shattered several streets away, including at an art and music school.
