Strike Near Red Crescent Building, Mahabad

On March 5, 2026, According to Iranian media reports, an Israeli airstrike damaged and heavily destroyed the Red Crescent building and the Tarbiat Cinema building in Mahabad. One person, reportedly a shopkeeper, was killed from the severity of his injuries, while several others were injured, including a Red Crescent responder who was taken to Imam Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad for treatment. The attack also caused extensive damage to the surrounding buildings.
