Missile strike on 'Abraar and Ahraar' Center in Mohammadabad city, Jarqaviyeh County

Shortly after 7:30 am, a missile struck a civilian property in Mohammadabad, Jarqaviyeh county.¹ Locals reported hearing a fighter jet overhead just moments before two successive explosions went off.² CCTV footage recorded from nearby buildings recorded the moments before and after a missile landed on the residential neighbourhood.³

News reports published days later, profiled the four civilians that had been killed in this attack. It was widely reported that an elderly couple who frequently organized the local women's Quran recitation gathering (known as a "Mahfel-e Quran") at the Abraar and Ahraar Center over the years, and two other middle-aged women who had arrived early to assist the preparations, were killed in this attack.² The Quran recitation gathering usually commenced at 9 am with around 40 women in attendance.⁴ A short documentary published on the subject of this attack includes CCTV footage from different angle from moments before and after the attack, and includes interviews with the family members of those killed.⁵ A funeral procession commemorating the four individuals killed in this attack was held in the city of Mohammadabad on 16 March 2026, with large numbers of locals in attendance.^{6 7}
