Strike on Kahurestan Bridge, Khamir County

Multiple sources reported that the two Kahurestan bridges, carrying opposite directions of the Bandar Abbas–Bandar Khamir–Lar highway over the Shur River, were struck on July 17, 2026, as part of a series of overnight attacks in Hormozgan Province. The strikes severed the main road connection between Hormozgan and Fars provinces, disrupting traffic along the route. Mehr News reported that the strikes destroyed the bridges and resulted in civilian fatalities. Hormozgan provincial authorities confirmed that the Kahurestan bridges were among the transportation infrastructure targeted during the overnight attacks.
