Tofigh Daru Pharmaceutical Facility

Iranian health authorities reported that at approximately 6:30 am local time, several missiles directly hit Tofigh Daru pharmaceutical complex and completely destroyed its production and research-and-development units.¹ Tofigh Daru is renowned for producing active pharmaceutical ingredients and medicines linked to cancer, multiple sclerosis, hospital medicines, operating-room drugs, anesthetics, cardiovascular and immunomodulatory segments.²

In a post published on X.com, the IDF took immediate responsibility for the strike, claiming that it had targeted the facility because "Tofigh Daru had knowingly and systematically supplied [fentanyl] to [Iran's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research], which used it to conduct research and development on chemical weapons."³

In a report published in early April, the World Health Organization listed the attack on Tofigh Daru pharmaceutical facility as part of a pattern of attacks on health facilities, health workers, pharmaceutical supply chains, and medical infrastructure in Iran.⁴
