This is not the first attack on the Mahshahr petrochemical zone during the 2026 conflict; a previous, larger strike in early April 2026 caused significant damage to multiple facilities within the same zone and resulted in reported casualties, underscoring the repeated targeting of this civilian industrial cluster.¹
