Sogand Dardmand

Their story

According to Iranian media reports, Sogand’s mother had given birth to her newborn child a few days before the attack. On that day, Sogand, along with her husband, Abdolrahim, her mother’s aunt, Maryam Parakandehdel, and her daughter, Fatemeh-Zahra Akbari, had gone to the village of Kalat to visit the mother and the newborn. Their vehicle was struck and they were killed on their way back on a bridge near the village of NimehKar in Hormozgan Province. Sogand was an eleventh-grade student and was supposed to hold her wedding ceremony in the coming months.
