Their story

On Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, around 9:30 AM, news of the start of the war reached the residents of Minab while students of the Shajarah-e Tayyebeh boys' and girls' school were in class. The mother of Mohammad-Sadra Zarei, a student at the school, described the events. She was by the window of her seminary classroom shortly after the internet outage that followed the war's commencement when she heard a sound and felt the window shake. Looking up, she saw thick smoke rising into the sky and was initially panicked, unsure of what had happened. Later, upon reaching a relative's home, she learned of the attack on her son's school. Overcome with emotion, she felt an urge to go and help, but another explosion occurred. A man arriving from the scene conveyed that a missile had struck the schoolyard, and a second strike targeted the same location as rescuers were attempting to save the children.
