Javad Sartakzadeh

Their story

Javad and Ahmadreza were two brothers who both studied at Shajarah-e Tayyebah School in Minab. Ahmadreza was a fifth-grade student and Javad was a second-grade student, and both were killed during the attack on this school. Ahmadreza and Javad also had two other siblings; one was two years old and the other was a student who studied at a different school.

On the day of the attack, Shajarah-e Tayyebah school contacted the families of the students, instructing them to take their children home due to the start of the war. The parents of Ahmadreza and Javad had to simultaneously go to pick up three of their children from different parts of the city; therefore, when they reached Shajarah-e Tayyebah school, it was arranged for the mother of the family to go pick up the third child who studied at a different school. The parents of these two students were on their way to Shajarah-e Tayyebah when they noticed smoke rising from the direction of the school. The streets leading to the school were crowded, and they arrived at the school when it was too late, and their children were under the rubble.
