Zohreh Rasouli: A Healer, A Mother, A Life Stolen in Her Sleep
Dr. Zohreh Rasouli was a young and devoted woman whose life was divided between medicine, motherhood, teaching, and a deep love for humanity. She was a gynecologist at Rahimian Hospital in Qazvin and also ran a clinic in Alvand. Many women in the city recall their experiences of childbirth and treatment with her as peaceful and respectful. But Zohreh was more than just a doctor. On her social media, she described herself as: “Doctor. Mother. Educator. A trusted voice for women’s health in Qazvin.”
Her kindness, respect for patients, nonjudgmental listening, and active engagement in education made her a beloved figure. Some patients said she treated not only their physical pain but also their emotional anxieties—and always gave them generous time and attention.
She was a life-bringer, a guardian of mothers’ health, delivering beautiful babies and showering them with love. Alongside her professional career, Zohreh was also a devoted mother to her infant daughter and five-year-old son. In June 2025, during an Israeli missile strike on Tehran, she was severely injured; her baby was wounded as well. She fought for her life in a Tehran ICU for several days, but her scorched body couldn’t withstand the trauma and she joined the victims of that attack.
Zohreh was not on a battlefield, nor in a military zone. She was martyred in the arms of her family, in the heart of everyday life, during a peaceful night while visiting her parents’ home. Her husband and two children were also killed in the same brutal attack on a residential building in Saadat Abad.
