Rayan Ghasemian was killed in a residential building in the town of Shahid Chamran by Israeli bombing. The two-month-old baby suffered 80 percent burns in the attack.
Images of him as a severely burned infant connected to a respirator circulated in the media.
After a few days, Rayan’s small body could no longer withstand the severity of the burns, and he lost his life.
Rayan’s mother was also killed in the fire. In an interview, Rayan’s grandfather said that Zohreh Rasouli — Rayan’s mother, who was a doctor — told those around her while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance, “Inform my secretary so my patients don’t have to wait.”
Little Ryan now rests in a small grave and is remembered as the youngest victim of the Israeli war.
