Leila Jafarzadeh: Mother to a One-Year-Old Child
Leila Jafarzadeh, a beautiful young mother with a one-year-old child, had gone to Evin Prosecutor’s Office on June 23, 2025, to follow up on her husband’s release. While she was completing administrative procedures, an Israeli missile attack struck Evin Prison, and Leila went missing. After several days of searching, her body was recovered from beneath the rubble. One of her friends recalls: “She could have been very happy, but for no reason, her entire life and future changed.”
“Leila wanted to have two or three children. She loved children very much. Whenever I asked about the hardships of having kids, she would say, ‘That’s just how it is.’ She even spoke lovingly about sleepless nights and sick children.”
Zahra shares, “From the moment I met her and her husband, whenever someone said they wanted to have children, I would hold them up as an example and say anyone who wants to be a parent should be like them.”
Now, Leila leaves behind a young sister, a restless mother, a stunned husband, and a one-year-old infant who awaits her return. The baby, unaware of everything and unaware of what war is, only searches for her mother’s familiar gaze. But now all eyes are fixed on the hot earth that covers Leila’s young, passionate body.
