Airstrike on Residential Building, Haji Sadeghi Street, Narmak Neighborhood, Eastern Tehran

In the pre-dawn hours of 13 June 2025, Israeli forces struck a residential apartment building in the alleys off Haji Sadeghi Street in Tehran's Narmak neighborhood, as part of the broader Operation Rising Lion assault on Iran. The strike was aimed at the private residence of Dr. Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari-Daryani, professor and former dean of the nuclear sciences faculty at Shahid Beheshti University. According to Rouydad24's on-the-ground correspondent who visited the scene the following morning, neighbors had gathered to watch debris removal operations from the 4–5 story building whose upper floors were completely demolished. The IRIB correspondent reporting live from Narmak confirmed that 5 bodies had been recovered from the building and approximately 20 people wounded, all of them civilians. Tasnim News Agency, citing a close acquaintance of the scientist named Ahmad Shafaei, confirmed that Zolfaghari was killed together with his wife, Mahnaz Mousaei, and his son, Mohammad, inside their home. Fars News Agency published exclusive post-strike photographs of Zolfaghari's destroyed residence. The Shargh Daily's retrospective on the Twelve-Day War confirmed that residential buildings in Narmak collapsed, with 5 dead and 20 wounded pulled from the rubble. The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Esmail Baqaei subsequently listed Narmak among the residential addresses and civilian infrastructure struck by Israeli and U.S. forces. No prior warning was issued to residents.
