On March 23, 2026, Zahra Vatanparast went to the Chizar neighborhood of Tehran to visit a friend for Nowruz. She lost her life alongside her friend and eight residents of a seven‑story residential building after Israeli–American missile strikes hit the building, where an Iranian scientist also lived.
