Nima Moradi

Their story

Nima Moradi was a 23-year-old seaman who was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on the commercial vessel "Anna." This voyage was Nima's first professional seafaring trip, and the Iranian vessel "Anna" was at an anchorage outside the Volga River within Russian territorial waters when it was targeted by a drone; the drone struck the ship's bridge, killing Nima. The vessel was carrying a cargo of iron and was en route from the port of Astrakhan to Bandar Anzali—a route that had been used for years as a safe and secure corridor for commercial trade between the two ports.

Nima was from Bandar Anzali and had a great passion for sports. He held several national championship titles in taekwondo and was a medalist in the sport, but he also had a great interest in soccer, and whenever the matches of the Malavan Bandar Anzali soccer club were held, he would go to the match venue to cheer for the team.
