Atiyeh Eslahi and her mother, Tahereh Mohammadi Nasr-Abadi, were killed when a fragment struck a Basij base in Tehran. Atiyeh was a student of Quran and Hadith Sciences at Hazrat Abdolazim Hassani University. She was twenty-one years old, the third child of the family, and had a twin sister.. According to reports published in Iranian media, her body was found without a head due to the intensity of the attack.
