Amir-Mohammad Karimi

Their story

Amir Mohammad Karimi was a six-year-old child from Kuhestak in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province. He had an older sister named Kiana, an eighth-grade student, and a brother named Amir Ali, a third-grade student, and he was supposed to begin his second year of preschool this year.

He was killed during a wedding ceremony in this port city, and his sister was injured. His mother recounted to the media: "One of our closest relatives had a wedding ceremony. In this city, we are like a big family and visit each other.Kiana never took Amir Mohammad with her to such ceremonies. She always said he was too mischievous, but that day was strange. My child had gone to the bath, combed his hair, and it was as if he had sensed he had to go. We were all supposed to go to the ceremony together, but the children had left earlier. I was at a neighbor's house when a terrible sound shook the city. There was a deafening sound of a missile, and everywhere was filled with smoke. I ran quickly into the alley and asked after the children. They said the children had gone toward the main street. A telecommunications tower had fallen, and shrapnel was scattered everywhere. The missile had hit right there by the street. I searched everywhere, but I couldn't find my son and daughter. Until I was contacted and told that my son had lost his life."

In this attack, the bride’s grandmother, one of the female relatives, and another young man were also killed. According to images released of the attack and the accounts of witnesses and volunteer rescuers, the attack on the house where the wedding ceremony was being held was carried out directly.
